The Power of the Solar Plexus (MKE 3)

As a martial artist I learned how to inflict pain by striking various vital points on the human body. One of those points is called the solar plexus, which is located in the pit of the stomach in front of the Aorta. It is part of the sympathetic nervous system which is associated with the subconscious mind. I never really thought about how the solar plexus is connected to our feelings, and how our mind associates those feelings to physical responses. Reading Haanel this week has given me a new perspective on just how much our mind and body rely upon each other in times of conflict, whether the conflict is internal or external. I know that if I strike that area of the body (the solar plexus), it will cause a momentary paralysis of the diaphragm — knocking the wind out of a person.

The solar plexus also acts as a warning system for the body. “I’ve got this bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.” How many times have you said that without really realizing this is your subconscious mind telling you that something is wrong? In the martial arts we use the term Chi as a way of channeling the energy that the human body has coursing through it. In Haanel, the solar plexus is explained as the Sun of the body. In martial arts, the same concept is described as Chi — a perpetual resource of life energy that the body generates. When this flow of energy (Chi) is disrupted it can affect the whole mind/body connection which can lead to unhealthy thoughts and manifest into physical ailments. I’ve experienced this firsthand. For a year after I was divorced, I agonized over it so much that I ended up having a physical response. I was diagnosed with a blood disorder which I believe was directly related to this experience. I agonized over it so much that this triggered my disorder to surface.

If there is any interruption of this radiation, the sensations are unpleasant, the flow of life and energy to some part of the body is stopped, and this is the cause of every ill to the human race, physical, mental or environmental.

Charles Haanel

I believe the interruption of chi, or life force, or the radiation of energy from the solar plexus, is what caused my disorder to manifest.

Now that I’m beginning to understand the role of the solar plexus and how integral it is to my health and ability to manifest good things in my life, I will utilize it in the development of my PPN (Personal Pivotal Need) of True Health.

Creating Good Habits to Strengthen My Self-Confidence (MKE 2)

I’m finding it a lot easier now to read Og and find myself finishing sentences on the page before I get to them. My enthusiasm for reading Scroll 1 is really amazing to me since I wasn’t an avid reader of books prior to MKE. I mostly read monthly subscriptions to Health and fitness magazines. Although I practiced meditation before, it has only gotten better and my thoughts are revealing more about my DMP. I’m working on changing my mindset so that my subconscious starts listening to my conscious mind in order to increase my self-confidence.

Opening My Mind to Change (MKE 1)

This is my first blog post, so bear with me as I’m new to writing one. I’ve been in MKE for just about a week now and I’m really excited to begin my journey of renewed self-discovery and thereby unlock my untapped potential. As I read The World’s Greatest Salesman I can see how the scrolls are a means to opening up my mind to change and to change the way I think. Thoughts to words, words to deeds, lead to accomplishment and success by not letting my subconscious mind deceive me into believing that I can’t grow.
